SAN DIEGO
Occasionally I get to travel for work, and I usually try and make time for some kind of activity whilst I’m away.
Recently I went to San Diego for a Robotics Conference, it was my first time there having only seen it in Anchorman or from pictures of Comic Con.
So I got a few recommendations from friends and off I went.
When in Rome you need to assemble your news team and visit Chin Key the Panda at the Zoo in the town famous for being named after the Whales Vagina. Then return to your rich mahogany smelling hotel room to read a leather bound book and drink scotch.
(This will make no sense if you’ve not seen Anchorman – go and watch it now. I’ll wait 1hr 34mins.)
Before I left I asked for recommendations of things to do.. so I will pass that wisdom on to you dear reader:
- Gaslamp district – Very lively at the weekend, just don’t get into any vans because you might end up in a porno.
- Bars – Tipsy Crow, Whiskey Girl
- Food – La Puerta (Mexican)
- Bar – False Idol – Hidden Tiki bar, I didn’t get to go but it was recommended by a local.
- Food – Kansas City Barbeque (Also known as the Top Gun bar).
- San Diego Zoo
- USS Midway – Aircraft Museum
- Air & Space Museum (not worth it!)
